This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but...

Just got my absentee ballot in the mail yesterday.  As is always the case, I'm having a little trouble with "unknown" names on the ballot, namely the judicial nominees.  So, I'm asking anyone from CA with more knowledge than I for help deciphering these nominees:

Who are these judges and are there any hidden mini-Scalias here that I should be aware of?  Mini-Ginsburg I should know about and vote for?  If you got the scoop, let me know.

I probably visit this site two or three times a day.  And each time, it never fails to amaze me how many talented, intelligent and thought-provoking people out there take their valuable time to post their thoughts here.  I mean, forget the MSM bullshit.  Time?  Fuck'em.  Newsweek?  Bullshit.  New York Times?  Has-been.  Simply put: Fuck Them All.  Like Billy Joel once sang, "I'm taking a Greyhound on a Hudson river-line.  Cuz I'm in a DKos state of mind." From now on, EVERYONE should question the Bush Administration's honesty whenever they try to play politics with terrorism because THIS says it all.

While the British terror suspects were hatching their plot, the Bush administration was quietly seeking permission to divert $6 million that was supposed to be spent this year developing new homeland explosives detection technology.

Republican State Senator Joins Democratic Party

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Republican state Sen. Nancy Riley, complaining there is no room in her party for moderates, switched to the Democratic Party Thursday and threw a new obstacle at GOP hopes of taking control of the Senate for the first time in state history.

Okay.  Good.  I'm glad.  But the timing of this move makes me skeptical.  Plus she is from Oklahoma who was seeking a moderate voice within GOP.  Still, the article itself is an eye-opener and I think ALL AMERICANS WHO VOTE should read it.

After reading JuliaAnn's excellent diary this morning, I wanted to take this opportunity to call out ALL Presidential hopefuls because I believe - more than ever - America is ready.

This isn't solely addressed to the usual names - Gore, Edwards, Feingold, Hillary, etc.  Rather, this is for anyone who is willing to stand up and take charge, thereby capturing our imagination and ultimately, our votes (well, at least mine anyway).

After reading this piece of garbage by Richard Cohen in today's Washington Post, I had to write him an email.  If anyone hasn't done so, I'd urge you to do the same.  His email address is at the bottom of his column.

With everything going on in the world, it's SO difficult for schmucks like me to keep up with the news.  Granted, missing any given day's news around the world usually doesn't hurt me.  But I'm an ambitious schmuck; a schmuck who craves knowledge; a schmuck who lives to take over every dinner conversation because I have this burning desire to impress everyone by boasting about my newfound knowledge on a daily basis.  Plus, I care.  I care about the world.  I care about this country.  I care about my family.  And I care about my neighbors.  That's why I depend on CNN to get me up to speed on current events.  Simply put, I think of CNN as gasoline for my brain.  And today, during dinner, Paula Zahn came through for me once again.

Between DeLay's indictment and the opening of "formal" investigation into Frist's Martha Stewart redux, I really, really wanted to celebrate today, but Bill Bennett's remark about how aborting all black babies would curtail the crime rate in this country has flushed my joy down the toilet.
