Bill Frist Buddy Nominated for Federal Judgeship (w/Poll)
Wed Jun 13, 2007 at 02:24:37 PM PDT
Gus Puryear IV of Nashville, executive vice president and general counsel at Corrections Corporation of America Inc. and a former aide to Republican Sen. Bill Frist, was nominated today to be a federal judge for the Middle District of Tennessee.
At first glance...just more Republican Croynism right?! But look again at the job he has now ...
Happy Thanksgiving From George W. Bush

I sent this out as an email yesterday...
Fox News Was Playing in my Bank Line-I Didn't Go Quietly
Mon Jun 05, 2006 at 01:06:53 PM PDT
So today I'm at my bank
First Tennessee to make a little transaction. As soon as I walk in the door I hear "that voice". It's George W. Bush. Bush is yammering-on about gay people getting married. (Did I mention my best friend is gay? Did I mention I
hate George W. Bush with every fiber of my being?) The line you have to stand in has a TV next to it. The TV, which in the past had always been tuned to CNBC is now tuned to Fox "News".
As I'm waiting in line, a man who is obviously an employee walks by and says: "You having a good day?" I reply that it would be a whole lot better if I didn't have to listen to George W. Bush.
Kurita Withdraws From U.S. Senate Race in TN
Wed Apr 12, 2006 at 03:03:26 PM PDT
I realize that there has been a previous diary on this subject, but that "diary" was only 3 sentences long and it spelled Rosalind Kurita's name wrong.
Here's the text of the letter that State Senator Rosalind Kurita sent to supporters today:

She's Tennessee State Senator Rosalind Kurita a Registered Nurse who is running to fill the seat of retiring Bill Frist.
My Letter From Sen. Lamar Alexander(with poll)
Thu Feb 16, 2006 at 06:01:46 PM PDT
Like Many of you, I joined in the "call-a-thon" to our Senators in the run-up to the Alito vote. I called (supposed) fence-sitting Democrats, as well as calling one of my Senators, Lamar Alexander.
Being from Tennessee, I have the distinction of having this guy and his buddy "Cat-Killer" Bill Frist as "my" Senators. 25 years ago, Alexander was a moderate Governor who re-vamped our state's education system and brought in lots of new technologly-related businesses.
He helped drag the state of Tennessee kicking and screaming into the 20th Century. I had a very faint hope that some sliver of moderation still lurked within his body. As you will see...I was wrong.
Frist Plans June Vote on Gay Marriage (with poll)
Mon Feb 13, 2006 at 07:25:03 PM PDT
Sigh...Here we go again.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said Monday he plans a vote in early June on a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, a move likely to fail but sure to spark a fiery election-year debate.
Do the Republicans flip a coin to decide which dead horse they will flog in each election year? Heads:abortion, Tails:gay marriage...
An Uphill Battle That Should Be Fought!
Thu Jan 12, 2006 at 07:50:30 PM PDT
The Democrats in the Senate
should filibuster Alito. If you only fight the battles you think you can win, then you will fight
no battles. In war you sometimes fight a losing battle in order to set yourself into a better position for the
next battle. Even if we filibuster Alito & "lose" we will still gain, by actually standing for something.
Question: How many Democratic Presidents in the last 50 years have appointed a Chief Justice?
Answer: None!
--Earl Warren appointed by Eisenhower
--Warren Burger appointed by Nixon
--William Rehnquist appointed by Reagan
--John Roberts appointed by Bush
A Rant From A Registered Nurse
Sat Sep 03, 2005 at 12:05:16 AM PDT
The following rant was written by my wife who is an RN
I can't believe the things that I'm seeing about New Orleans. It's like something out of a science fiction movie or a Stephen King novel.
I have seen so many things that have broken my heart over the last few days but nothing has touched me like the story of the doctors, nurses
and other medical staff at Charity Hospital. For those who aren't familiar with it, Charity is the hospital where most of the city's poor are taken.
Let 'Em Eat Cake

The George W. Bush Summer Variety Show
Fri Aug 05, 2005 at 03:38:28 PM PDT
So...here we are again...another August and another long Bush vacation. Time to take a look back at Bush's most infamous vacation: 2001.
Do you remember August 6, 2001? That's ok...neither do I. But it turns out that it was a very significant day in our nation's history.
Not significant for what was done...but for what wasn't done.
Of course by now, we all know the date and what wasn't done. We know Bush played golf and moved brush around for photo-ops. We also know he ignored the PDB.
Remember Her?
Mon Jul 25, 2005 at 11:06:20 PM PDT

It's Karl Rove's friend Pat Peale, wearing her bandage to mock Senator John Kerry during the 2004 RNC.
So why am I bringing her up again?
Beacuse the Rove Republicans are at it again.
More on the flip side.
